You can get strips of plywood from your local hardware store. I however had an old poster I no longer wanted to use so I took the frame from that. You would also need a measuring tape, penknife, scissors and glue. The type of glue depends on the material frame you use. My poster frames are plastic so some super glue did the trick.
Measure the width of the fabric you're framing and mark the width on the top and bottom frames. At these marks cut out a square the width of the long frame. Ensure that you do not cut all the way through, you want the two pieces to fit together snuggly.
The four pieces should fit together nicely as above. I liked how the frames fit together at the corners so I left it like this. If you want a "neater finish" you can trim these edges more.
Next glue the horizontal frame and roll the fabric on to the frame. Two rolls should suffice. The result should look like the picture below.
Leave this for about 10 - 15 minutes so that the glue can dry. Next fit the long frames in to place and glue the fabric in place. The result should look like the picture below.
For more secure, and to add a 'natural touch', I tied leather strips on each corner.
