DIY: Accented Wine Glasses

Inspired by JunkNTreasurez blog post now I want to use Modge Podge

What up people!
So you know Pinterest in my new favorite thing right? I mean literally where can you plan a wedding, dinner, an outfit, and a craft project all in one place. I swear its my new online time waster. In preparation for our game night/wine social (another post) I found this cute wine glass tutorial and decided to try it out. So here's what I did...

Supplies:
All you need
-Wine Glasses (or whatever glass you choose, the tutorial I saw used champagne)
-Modge Podge
-Foil/Paper Dollies
-Scissors
and some time

So the first thing to do is to wash the glasses and make sure the bottoms are properly cleaned and dry
Then turn then glass over so it's face up on the foil and trace the shape of the bottom of the glass out
Now how you put the Modge Podge on depends slightly on your foil. The tutorial I read put the paste then the foil however when I tried that the glue took forever to dry. So forgoing that step put the foil shiny side up on the bottom of the glass so you can see the pattern through the glass then use the Modge Podge to lightly coat the Dollie to the glass

Let sit for awhile. You are sure it's done when the glue goes from white to clear. DO NOT put on another coat of paste before it dries because the lack of air flow to the bottom layer will cause it not to dry clear and make your glasses look really weird

So continue adding layers of Modge Podge and letting them dry until you can barely feel the Dollie. And that's it! Now you have fun interesting glasses for your next party or gathering.

Now if I were to do this again I would definitely follow the advice of letting the glue dry completely. Also I might not even use dollies. There was this Mardi Gras colored confetti that Omi told me was too much for a wine night but I happen to think might look pretty cool on some champagne or cocktail glasses....we shall see!

Laters,

D'J
