Wine n' Games Night

So we decided to have a wine and games night with a couple of our friends. This is a great idea if you're looking for a chill but fun night in (without spending too much).

So the first thing were the glasses. Even though we're college students, we both agreed that red solo cups need not be the staple for every college house party.
So we headed over to the dollar store and picked up some glasses. DJ, in true DIY fashion, decided to spruce up our glasses to give them that extra touch of class. You can see her step by step tutorial in our DIY section.

Next up were the wines. Now, we don't at any point claim to be connoisseurs of wine, but we did want to ensure we had a nice range from dry to sweet red and white wines. World Market has a wide selection of wines so that's where we headed. A couple of our guests brought some wines as a courtesy as well. So here are the wines of the night!

White Wines

Dry/ Semi-Sweet Sweet
Cavit Collection: Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie
Manage a trois Chardonnay
Schmitt Söhne Riesling
Moscato D'Asti
Moscato Castello del Poggio
Cupcake Angel Food (Dessert Wine)

Red Wines

Carlo Rossi Sweet Red
Robertson Winery Natural Sweet Red
Yellow Tail Sweet Red Roo

So we had the wines and the glasses, the next thing was to determine the games. A really good place to get inspiration is Pinterest. We found a link to some really nice Minute to Win It games we could choose from. We also had some playing cards, Uno, Taboo and Curses.

A good introductory game is called 'Face the Cookie'. Here everyone that arrived had to first 'Face the Cookie'. The objective is to place a cookie on your forehead, then make that cookie go in to your mouth using only your facial muscles. No hands allowed! This may seem impossible at first but definitely doable, a lot of fun, and a great way to get people into a 'game-playing' mood.

Another noteworthy game we played was 'Tear it Up'. The objective was to shoot rubber bands at toilet paper attached to a soda can. The first team to break the toilet paper wins.

We continued the night with classics like Taboo and Uno. Be sure to change up the games at a nice pace so no one gets too bored with one thing. Oh and before I forget, finger food is always a nice touch! We had some cheeses, grapes and some French Baguettes.

So now you're armed with some ideas to have your very own wine and games night. Here's some pics of how ours turned out.
